The most important thing you can do 24-48 hours prior to your colon hydrotherapy session is to hydrate well by drinking plenty of water. If possible, two hours prior to your session try to limit your food intake and reduce your fluid intake. This will allow your body to focus on elimination rather than digestion and will help avoid a full bladder during your session. The following are suggestions only. Preparation is not required. Many people find it beneficial to reduce their intake of red meats, processed carbohydrates (white breads, pastas, rice, etc.), dairy products and carbonated beverages 24 hours before the appointment. Try to avoid foods that tend to give you gas such as beans, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, etc. Increase your intake of whole fruits and vegetables. Fresh squeezed vegetable/fruit juices and smoothies are great! Drinking raw fresh vegetable juice prior to your colonic helps loosen the waste and starts the cleansing process in advance.
Its best to eat healthy, light, and nourishing foods that are easy to digest. Some suggested foods are steamed vegetables, fruits, fresh squeezed vegetable and fruit juices, smoothies, soups, broths, and steamed or broiled fish and poultry (if you are not a vegetarian). Try to avoid gas-forming foods. Raw vegetables are packed full of nutrients and enzymes but can be gas-producing immediately following a colon hydrotherapy session. Drink plenty of water to keep the toxins flushing from your body.
